Unfortunately after blocking it the first time, the House passed the terrible American Health Care Act. Now we have to work to block a similar bill in the Senate. We need to call on the Democratic leadership and moderate Republicans to work together to FIX the concerns about the ACA and move us closer to universal healthcare and/or single-payer Medicare for all. Reach out to Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Chuck Schumer, John McCain, Keith Ellison, and anyone else you can think of. We, of course, need to stay on Vern Buchanan, Marco Rubio, and Bill Nelson and make sure they know we are watching.
Healthcare and Reproductive Rights - We fully support safe and accessible healthcare for All regardless of insurance, economic, or citizen status. This includes a woman’s right to legal abortions, affordable birth control, emergency contraception, disabilities, mental health, veteran’s, eldercare, and family planning.
The Healthcare Committee is committed to monitoring legislation related to healthcare and reproductive rights. We will then use this forum to share information with our members and to encourage action and participation in events. This page will change regularly so we encourage you to check for updates and share the information with like-minded friends and family.
